Established in 2024, Lipikola Type Foundry designs and delivers high-quality fonts for both Local and Global audiences. Lipikola’s font library is steadily growing, with its debut typeface ‘Droho’ already making waves in the creative community.


As Lipikola expands its collection, the foundry remains committed to designing typefaces that blend cultural depth with modern functionality. With many exciting projects underway, Lipikola is on a path to becoming a significant force in the global type design industry.

Kazi Jubair Mahmud

Founder & Creative Director

Kazi Jubair Mahmud is the founder and head type designer of Lipikola Type Foundry in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been active in the design industry for over a decade, working across typography, branding, book design, and visual communication. Before founding Lipikola, he built a career as a cover artist and brand identity designer, creating work for publishers, newspapers, and cultural organizations.

In 2015, he established kazrikaz, an advertising agency in Dhaka, blending design craftsmanship with strategic marketing.
His portfolio includes the rebranding of the Daily Shomoyer Alo newspaper and numerous book covers for celebrated authors. His work often explores the intersection of heritage and modernity in the Bengali script.
Through Lipikola, he organizes events such as TypeTalk: Discussing Bangla Typefaces and curates exhibitions to promote the future of Bengali typography. His ongoing research on historical Bengali letterforms informs much of his type design practice, aiming to ensure the script’s evolution remains rooted in its cultural origins.

Kazi Sayeed Mahmud is the Co-Founder and Programmer of Lipikola Type Foundry. A dedicated researcher and creative technologist, he has been contributing to the design and media industry since 2020. His expertise spans web development, motion graphics, editing, and filmmaking, where he combines technical skill with a research-driven approach.

In addition to his role at Lipikola as a font engineer, he designs and develops typefaces that advance Bangla typography.

As both a researcher and practitioner, His career reflects a commitment to exploring the intersection of technology, design, and storytelling. His collaborations with diverse brands and organizations demonstrate not only technical precision but also a vision for advancing design and typography in Bangladesh and beyond.
